THE WORD ON ERIKA
One of my favorites...Peopled with more than a dozen characters... it poses an acting challenge that the show’s star, Erika Rose, met with impressive nimbleness.
Tremendously appealing...superbly confident, utterly relaxed, and wonderfully chameleonic.
The always fantastic Erika Rose is a revelation.
With her brilliant smile and radiance of warmth, Rose creates a trusting confidant in her depiction of Sugar, and with her “radical sincerity,” we want to heed her advice.
With her hauntingly expressive eyes, Rose cuts a warmly embraceable figure. ...this actress of open heart does manage to touch ours.
ABOUT ME
Erika Rose, lauded for her compelling work on Washington, D.C. stages, is a two-time winner of the Helen Hayes Award for Outstanding Lead Actress. She is a versatile and powerful actor, chosen to originate roles in over ten world premiers.
Erika has enjoyed performing around the country, recently in the critically acclaimed production of CONFEDERATES, by Dominique Morisseau at Oregon Shakespeare Festival, directed by Nataki Garrett. One critic called Erika's performance, "one of the finest I’ve seen at OSF."

Erika is a member of the acting company at Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company and a member of Actors Equity Association.
Erika is a no make-up kind of person, unless chapstick and moisturizer count. She stays busy in the act of creating, not for public consumption, but for herself. She looks for opportunities to work with collaborators that center the art and the heart and know how to have fun while doing it. Erika seeks material that asks questions we are afraid to ponder and stories that make us feel more human, connected and consequential to one another..
